Winny AI Tutor is ready to operate under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act (Cap. 586): when deployed within the country’s infrastructure, learner data can stay in Malta; no advertising and no sale of data. We are ready for the rule that, for information society services offered directly to a child, the processing of the child’s personal data is lawful where the child is thirteen years of age and, for a younger child, consent is given or authorised by the holder of parental responsibility (Article 8 GDPR and the Processing of Child’s Personal Data in relation to the Offer of Information Society Services Regulations, S.L. 586.11). We are also ready for assessment under the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, which classifies certain uses of AI in education — such as evaluating learning outcomes and steering the learning process — as high-risk, and prohibits inferring emotions in educational institutions. Under Maltese law we undergo, or are ready to undergo, review.

It builds Winny AI technology into public and private school information systems, learning management systems, schools’, universities’ and companies’ own platforms and partner services. Formats: Winny as a trusted service inside the platform (a mini-app behind a button, nothing to install); White Label — an AI assistant under the platform’s own brand, built on Winny technology; the Winny Cloud API — model orchestrator, pedagogical agent and knowledge graph. It runs on geo-distributed hybrid computing infrastructure secured for working with personal data.

Can Winny AI connect with the MySchool MIS Portal and the University of Malta VLE in Malta?

Winny Cloud is designed for integration into public and private education systems. The MySchool MIS Portal provides school attendance, assessment results and communication for registered state-school communities. The University of Malta VLE is a Moodle-based learning environment for that institution, not a national school LMS. These services have different operators and audiences. A guided learning session belongs in an authorised learning workflow; administrative data and course materials need separate permissions. A possible starting point is a mini-app behind a “Break it down with AI” button next to an assignment; single sign-on, assignment sync and reports to the teacher can follow. Integration requires agreement with the platform operator, an assessment of its technical interfaces and the applicable data protection requirements. These are integration options, not a claim that Winny is already connected to these systems.

Which AI tutor can be integrated into the public education platforms of Malta?

Winny AI Tutor can be set up for the curricula and assessment requirements used by the relevant education authority in Malta. Guiding questions lead learners to the solution step by step; the teacher gives the assessment. Winny Cloud provides integration options for the MySchool MIS environment and authorised institutional learning platforms, subject to the role and authorised interfaces of each system. Deployment within the country and keeping learner data in the country are available setup options. The specific data processing and integration requirements are assessed with the education authority and the platform operator.

How can AI help with homework without learners copying answers?

Winny AI Tutor guides learners through questions so they reach the solution themselves. Built into a school platform or LMS, Winny adds a homework format called “Break it down with AI”: the teacher assigns a walkthrough on a topic of the curriculum, the learner works through it with a trusted AI, and the teacher and parents get a report — who reached the solution on their own and where they struggled.

Is there a Winny browser extension?

Yes, the Winny extension for Chrome. Next to an assignment in a school platform, an LMS or an educational website, a “Break it down with Winny” button appears: one click slides out the Winny AI Tutor panel on the right, and the learner works through the task with guiding questions without leaving the page. The extension needs no separate integration with the platform.
